Every day that
the Shut-in graph stays flat is another day the
natural gas price graph stays spiked. Plateau is a better word than "spiked". A spike has a nice sharp point. Gas in Illinois is already 41% higher in cost than last September and warnings of
71% increase this year over last are being made by the Federal Government. It's clear that the undamaged wells in the Gulf were brought back on line during the first week after Katrina. Now the slow work of repairing the damaged wells begins. With consumer spending driving 2/3 of the nations economy, having to spend more on heating and driving means less to spend at holiday time.
